Sucker Punch

This week I saw the movie Sucker Punch. In this movie the main character, Babydoll, is being send to a mental institution by her stepfather after her mother has died and she is blamed for the death of her younger sister. What follows is a weird, multi-layered (or should I say multidimensional?) story that is ultimately about control. Control about your situation, your body, your mind.

And it has a great soundtrack. This is one of the songs on it: Björk featuring Skunk Anansie - Army Of Me.

The Evoluon was a great science museum in Eindhoven, The Netherlands, which I've visited several times during my childhood in the seventies.

Ya Ya

This song was on the first album I ever possessed. Well, confiscated from my dad, really. I must have played it a million times. Funny thing about those old records, if you hear the songs years later you still expect the needle to skip at the same place, even though it's all mp3's or at least cd's now. Oh, and I still have this record by the way, somewhere in a box in the attic. Some of the boys asked yesterday if we could play some old records one of these days. And we will. I'm looking forward to it.
